Set to be one of the most talked about US bands of 2016, February sees the release of Sunflower Bean's debut album 'Human Ceremony', an impressive and comprehensive re-invention and stylish updating of American alternative rock crossing over into edgy yet completely accessible indie-pop.
The New York three-piece's deftness in this genre is demonstrated well in their latest single 'Easier Said' and the earlier 'Wall Watcher', the latter with its superbly Lo-Fi Lynchian video made by the band with noted music photographer Roger Sargent, who is well known for his work with British artists such as The Charlatans, The Libertines and Suede - directing Suede's recent film project for their 'Night Thoughts' album.
Single 'Easier Said' seems to hat tip to The Primitives and their hugely successful 1988 post-punk/pop crossover 'Crash' alongside a shimmering chorus of other reputable indie influences from Summers gone by.
There's also still just chance to catch the tail end of the UK leg of Sunflower Bean's tour in London and Brighton - dates below:
18th Feb 2016 London, UK @ The Dome
19th Feb 2016 Brighton, UK @ Bleach
