The Strypes sign 5 album Record Deal

Monday 7th January 2013

Hotly tipped act for 2013 The Strypes recently announced that they had signed a 5 album worldwide record deal with Mercury Records UK, part of the Universal Music Group.

Hailing from Cavan, Ireland these blue eyed souls are all aged between 14-16 and can already count Paul Weller and Jeff Beck as devoted fans, who admire their raw energy and passion, reminiscent of bands like The Animals and The Yardbirds. With a clear love of 60s British RnB bands, they take heavy influence from The Rolling Stones and include classic Blues numbers from the likes of Chuck Berry, Howlin' Wolf, Bo Diddley & Little Walter in their repertoire.

Reportedly this deal was months in the making and a whole host of other major labels were interested in signing the Irish 4-piece. The buzz around The Strypes has been building up ever since the release of their first EP 'Young, Gifted & Blue' back in April 2012 on Heavy Soul Records and it is still available to buy from iTunes Here.
