The Who - Quadrophenia UK & Europe Tour

Monday 28th January 2013

The Who have announced a 12 date arena tour of the UK and Europe, the tour will follow on from their hugely successful North American tour which is set to finish in February.

It will see them play their generation defining, awe-inspiring rock opera album 'Quadrophenia' in its entirety as well as a selection of their greatest hits.

This new tour has been directed personally by frontman Roger Daltrey and has been hailed by critics and fans as the definitive incarnation of the classic album onstage - seeing the narrative replaced with "powerful imagery projected onto an array of massive screens designed to support, complement and propel the musical content of the work by setting it in the context of the history of the band."

Quadrophenia was originally released in 1973 and was The Who's second Rock Opera (after 'Tommy') and reached #2 in the UK album charts. it is often cited as one of the greatest rock albums ever made, setting the standard for future generations as well as having a lasting cultural impact.

The album even spawned a film of the same name in 1979 that has since achieved cult status. Set in Brighton, UK, it sees a young Sting star alongside Phil Daniels, Ray Winstone, Leslie Ash & Toyah Willcox.

Onstage founding members Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend are joined by the son of Ringo Starr - Zak Starkey (drums), Pino Palladino (bass), Simon Townshend (guitar/backing vocals), John Corey (keyboards), Loren Gold (keyboards/backing vocals) and Frank Simes (musical director, keyboards/backing vocals).
