Initially recorded in 2008, in the lull period between Christmas and New Years, 'As I Was Now' was a means of dealing with the boredom that Tim Burgess and a group of fellow musicians were experiencing at the time.
Alongside Tim Burgess, the recording brought together a group of prominent and modern musicians of the period. Ladyhawke, The Horrors' guitarist Josh Hayward, Primal Scream's Martin Duffy, My Bloody Valentine's Debbie Googe and Klaxons' Steffan Halperin all lent their talents to the pet project.
The resulting collection of nine songs remained unreleased for ten years until Record Store Day 2018 when they were released as the album 'As I Was Now'.
“We were complaining about how boring things were between Christmas and New Year, so we got together to record some songs. Some songs were more complete than others; others appear on this record more finished than others.” - Tim Burgess
Following the success of the RSD Vinyl release, the album will also be given a full release on 14th May (2018), ensuring that fans and curious listeners are not left wanting.
