What do you do?
Where are you from?
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
I haven’t watched many gigs of UK musicians… I’ve recently watched Shintaro Sakamoto (Japanese musician) and The Internet (American musician) at the Ebisu LIQUIDROOM in Tokyo.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
I am especially inspired by The Beatles’ Hippy spirit. I listened to all of their albums and like them all. I always look for daisy-like designed clothes and vintage '60s clothes.
Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
In recent days, Billboard JAPAN STAGE, where I played in SUMMER SONIC. There was the booth in the van, and I felt great to play outside.
If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
Paul McCartney. I like his voice among other members of The Beatles. I can imagine participating as a chorus in the ‘Ebony And Ivory’ duetted with Stevie Wonder.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Paul McCartney. Around 1980 is the best to me, in which he released “McCartneyⅡ” including ‘Frozen Jap’. I think he likes art as well, so I’d like to see a lot of galleries in London together.
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
'Common People' by PULP matches my mood these days. The music video is so lovely.
