Describe your style in three words?

See for yourself!

The first track you played on repeat?

The Housemartins - Happy Hour

It’s like the soundtrack to my childhood. It was my Dad's ringtone growing up and still is 23 years later! I must have heard this song every day for 18 years straight. My Dad told me he loves this song because it makes him feel good, so for that reason makes me really happy.

A song from your favorite album?

Kate Bush - Cloudbusting

Kate Bush is incredible, she’s got beauty and brains. Each song on this album sucks me in and she’s so good and telling a story through her music. This song particularly, I love how imaginative it feels, “I just know that something good is gonna happen...” makes me feel warm.

A song from your most memorable gig?

Erykah Badu - Hello

This is kinda funny, I remember being at field day with my friends in 2017 and us waiting all day to see the woman herself. I was so gone I literally don’t remember anything after the first song which is this track.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

Dominica - Gotta Let You Go - Club Mix

I can just picture it now, me and my friends out at Bussey post-covid living our best lives with this blasting in the back. To me this song is somewhat spiritual, it reminds me that I should be proud of my personal growth, and not taking s*** from men who aren’t worth it.

A new song you're listening to?

PYLS - Do What You Do

This track is absolutely mega. The duo is made up of two guys who met on a mega bus up north to Manchester a couple of years ago, I think that’s really something. I’m so excited for their future releases.

Best song to turn up loud?

Josie Man - Grow

It’s the lyrics for me. When you listen to Josie’s music you’re invited into a realm of pure (self) love and acceptance, her songs are so relatable yet so personal to her experiences. Take a deep breath and claim it, “nothing ever grows without me!”.

A song that defines the teenage you?

Wolf Alice - You’re a Germ

Wolf Alice were that band I was obsessed with when I was 17, I’ve seen them 11 times to date. This was the first song I heard, I loved how menacing it sounded in contrast to the other stuff I was listening to. I was in complete awe of Ellie and wanted to be just like her.

An anthemic song?

The Style Council - Shout To The Top

This song is for all moods, or should I say my ever changing moods? (terrible pun). Sad? Shout to the Top. Happy? Shout higher! I may go as far to say this is my favourite song ever, Paul Weller is a stylish, sexy genius.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

Nick Drake - Bryter Layter

Probably not your typical afters track, though for me it’s like a lullaby that will softly send you to sleep, such a beautiful instrumental piece. I often say Nick Drake sounds like a calm, sunny Sunday.
