Hackney Flea Market

Record Fair & DIY Art Market in East London

Thursday 3rd March 2016

Hackney Flea Market started in July 2013, with the aim of offering vintage sellers and creative independents an affordable space to sell their wares and promote their business, in the busy heart of Stoke Newington. The market is now a monthly event and has expanded its remit to include a bi-monthly D.I.Y. art market and other creatively minded events including a record fair on Sunday March 6th (2016) for those who enjoy digging through crates at the weekend.

The next Hackney Record Fair will take place Sunday (6/3/2016) from 11:00 am - 6:00pm, at Epic in Dalston, (15 Stoke Newington Road, N16 8BH). Music has always been a key element of the social atmosphere at Hackney Flea Market with DJs and soundsystems providing an eclectic mix of vinyl and playlists, and the Record Fair promises to be no different, offering attendees the chance to pick up some obscure rarities themselves.

Items for sale will include, records from a long list of independent labels, vinyl lps and 45s, homemade cassettes, vintage hi-fi equipment, VHS tapes, underground press, fanzines, alternative culture books, a free record cleaning service, and much more - including a craft beer bar. And it's free to enter!

The following weekend will see the Hackney Flea Market team host their D.I.Y. Art Market in Peckham on Saturday from 11:00am - 6:00pm (12/3/2016) at Copeland Park (Copeland Road, SE15 3SL).

With the resurgence in self publishing, art printmaking, punk spirited zines and other self initiated expressions of creative output, there's no better time to pick up some independent art, or get inspired to make your own.

Items available from the carefully curated selection of over 50 artists and sellers include, art prints, ceramics, zines & independent publications, illustration, photography, jewellery, comics, homemade cassettes, records and artist books.
