This summer we tipped James Cherry as one our ‘Ones To Watch for 2016’, and true to form he hasn’t disappointed. His sophomore single ‘Why Don’t You Listen?’ released in June, cemented Cherry’s ability to seamlessly combine ‘close to the bone’ lyrics with instantaneous melodies. The single not only gained support via the BBC Radio 1 Introducing playlist, but has amassed over one and a half million streams on Spotify to date. Needless to say his deeply personal follow up ‘Break Somebody’, which is released today, is hotly anticipated.
Following a standout sold out show in his hometown of Leicester and appearances at this year's Dot 2 Dot Festival, Cherry has announced his debut 5-date headline tour this October. The tour will be an opportunity for James to once again place his heart on his sleeve with his powerful, emotive vocals and undeniable skill to tell his life’s stories.
James Explains “My voice isn’t a technical or traditional singing voice but I think when I sing people believe me”.
