My name is Alonza Bevan and I live in the woods near the Belgian/French border.
What do you do?
I write songs, play bass and make records with Kula Shaker… amongst other things.

Transcendental psychedelic rock’n’roll.

What do you miss about home when you’re on tour?
My family, a reliable supply of tea and people who say hello when you pass them on the street.
What British music icons inspire your sound today?
Too many to mention… John, Paul, George and Ringo, Mick and Keith, Donavan, Bert Jansch, Mr Bowie, Ray Davies, Hank Marvin, Robert, Jimmy, John and John… in no particular order and we could just keep going.
Outside of Kula Shaker, Alonza Bevan was also a member of Johnny Marr's band, The Healers. November 2016 sees Kula Shaker re-release their debut album 'K', marking the 20th anniversary of its original release. ‘K’ drew on the influences that included George Harrison, The Grateful Dead, The Kinks and Deep Purple.
