Another great Liverpool band - we'd say there must be something in water in Merseyside but you'd have to say there's always been something in the water around those parts - a fact we covered recently with our Liverpool Sound blog last year.
Seprona are Daniel Badger (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Sammy Issa (Guitar), Tom Larkin (Bass) and Joe Grove (Drums). An indie pop/rock outfit that formed in 2014, they practice in an abandoned pub on the outskirts of Liverpool's city centre and it is here where they have been locking themselves away recently, writing prolifically.
This prolific writing session has come off the back of storming appearances at Sound City in May 2015 (playing alongside The Flaming Lips and The Vaccines) and at FestEVOL a few months later. These high profile gigs in Liverpool have seen them start to make waves locally thanks to their fresh take on the classic genre.
Headed by frontman, Daniel Badger, Seprona look to create a sonic bridge between the mundane and the macabre, the frenzied and the trippy; the night and day! Joe Grove on drums and Tom Larkin on bass develop rhythmic canvas' between them, moody and pulsing, only to be hued by siren-like guitar sounds courtesy of Sammy Issa, and the pensive, telltale vocals of Daniel Badger.
Label mates with Dot to Dot 2015 and Sub-Sonic alumni Sugarmen, the band's development deal with Rooftop Records, a label owned by Parr Street Recording Studio's Chris Taylor, gives Seprona access to recording time as well as valuable mentoring. This recording time has proved fruitful, listen for yourself and check out the excellent new single 'Trap Door' below.
