Proudly introducing the final instalment of our last collaboration with Raf Simons. One of the most celebrated designers in modern history, Simons looks to the late ‘80s and early ‘90s for inspiration. A time when working class Britain was tough, but communities of people came together, uniting in music, fashion and friendship. The parka has a long sartorial history within Fred Perry, and British culture at large. A storied favourite of Britpop darlings, the iconic drawcord fishtail to the rear harks back to the parka’s military origins, allowing soldiers to tie the tail around their legs to preserve heat (that’s an optional method of styling). Simons reimagines the iconic style with a printed patch, uniform-style epaulettes and an enamel pin. Don’t forget the functionality - a front storm flap with a hidden press stud closure protects your outfit from the sudden British showers we all know and love.
