03Interview

Name?
Stina Tweeddale & Cat Myers.

Where are you from?
S - Glasgow.
C - Durham originally, Edinburgh for the last 13 years.

What do you do?
S - Sing and play Guitar in Honeyblood.
C - Play drums in Honeyblood & stroke cats.

Describe your style in three words?
S - Miss-match, scruffy & sparkles.
C - Boyish, Ripped, Metallic.

You can make a record with anyone from history - who would it be?
C - Freddy Mercury...  imagine recording Bohemian Rhapsody with Freddie Mercury.

What do you miss about home when you're on tour?
S - I miss my washing machine and my heels - I usually just end up wearing trainers and leggings while we are on tour.
C - My cats Cushions & Blanket, cooking my own dinner & my pals.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been too?
C - Foo Fighters Leeds Festival 2002. It was the first time I'd seen them & since I'd been listening to them non-stop for the previous 7 years, it blew my 17-year-old mind.
S - Watching the Foo Fighters after we got to support them, definitely.

What British music icons inspire you?
S - I love Elastica, and they are icon status for sure.
C - PJ Harvey, because she's a badass.

You can spend an hour with anyone from history - who would it be?
S - Frida Kahlo.
C - In the studio with John Bonham, I think it would be a lot of fun. An hour is too short to get into anything too deep!

Honeyblood are a Glaswegian Punk duo. Their second album 'Babes Never Die' was released in November 2016.

04Playlist Notes

What was the first song you played on repeat?
S - 'I Should Be So Lucky' by Kylie Minogue - I was three.
C - Err, I guess that'd be more of a rewind as I had tapes for a long time! My dad gave me a Santana tape & I used to listen to 'Oye Como Va' repeatedly to learn the drums, ha!

One record you would keep forever?
C - Taylor Hawkins & the Coattail Riders self-titled debut. If I ever feel like I've lost my mojo I put this album on & it sorts me out. The first song 'Louise' is great, awesome drums throughout.

A song from your favourite album?
S - 'Glorious' by The Breeders, from the album Pod.

A song you wish you had written?
S - 'To Love Somebody' by The Bee Gees.
C - 'Bohemian Rhapsody' by Queen... again.

A song that defines the teenage you?
C - 'Scentless Apprentice' by Nirvana.

Music icon that has inspired you?
S - Kathleen Hanna, she's a constant inspiration.

A song lyric that inspires you?
S - "Out of all those kinds of people
You got a face with a view
I'm just an animal looking for a home
Share the same space for a minute or two"

'This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)' by Talking Heads.

Stillhound - Great band from Edinburgh who just released their debut album, it's brilliant.
