Name, where are you from?
The Orielles, Manchester via Halifax!
Describe your style in three words?
Dee-lite flavoured Giallo.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Stereolab! Either at the Albert Hall or Green Man festival, 'Metronomic Underground' always slaps hard.
If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
An Arthur Russell double bill in New York with two of his projects Loose Joints and Dinosaur L! Would be a legendary show.
Which subcultures have influenced you?
Northern soul, New York CBGB's / Max's Kansas City scene, Mods / vintage YSL-esque androgyny and workwear, Acid house / the second summer of love.
If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
David Lynch and it could still happen!
Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
We've left our collective heart with The Trades Club in Hebden Bridge. It's a great venue run by the best people with real intentions for supporting live music and the local community!
Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Barbara Lewis for the track 'Hello Stranger' because it's simply the best song ever written and sadly later versions gained more success than her original performance and composition of the track.
The Orielles will release their second album 'Disco Volador' in February 2020, you can pre-order it at heavenlyrecordings.ochre.store/discovolador.
They will also be touring the UK and the US throughout February and March, details and tickets can be found at theorielles.co.uk.
The Orielles were originally tipped as part of our British New Wave 2017 and they also supported Baxter Dury at Fred Perry SubcultureLive at The 100 Club, London in August 2017. Read about that here.

'Future Of The Future' by Deep Dish ft. Everything But The Girl.

'Rip It Up' by Orange Juice.
Best song to turn up loud?
'Live And Let Die' by Wings.
A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
errr, 'Alternative Ulster' by Stiff Little Fingers? I think people would underestimate how MUCH we like it!
Best song to end an all-nighter on?
'Ladyfingers' by Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass, end the night with a slow dance.

'Non Siamo' by EYE.
'Eyes Don't Say It' by Maria Somerville.
'Drunken Angel' by Empath.
