What do you do?
Model/ DJ

Where are you from?
Tokyo

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
I haven’t watched many gigs of UK musicians… I’ve recently watched Shintaro Sakamoto (Japanese musician) and The Internet (American musician) at the Ebisu LIQUIDROOM in Tokyo.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
I am especially inspired by The Beatles’ Hippy spirit. I listened to all of their albums and like them all. I always look for daisy-like designed clothes and vintage '60s clothes.

Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
In recent days, Billboard JAPAN STAGE, where I played in SUMMER SONIC. There was the booth in the van, and I felt great to play outside.

If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
Paul McCartney. I like his voice among other members of The Beatles. I can imagine participating as a chorus in the ‘Ebony And Ivory’ duetted with Stevie Wonder.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Paul McCartney. Around 1980 is the best to me, in which he released “McCartneyⅡ” including ‘Frozen Jap’. I think he likes art as well, so I’d like to see a lot of galleries in London together.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
'Common People' by PULP matches my mood these days. The music video is so lovely.

04Playlist Notes

How did you select the tracks for this playlist?
Focusing on the songs which I listened to in my youth, I formed a personal chart, including songs I’m listening to these days too.

The first track you played on repeat?
‘When I'm Sixty-Four’ by The Beatles. Whenever my dad was driving we always played The Beatles, and I liked this song. It was when I was 10~12 years old.

A song that defines the teenage you?
‘I Was Born To Love You’ by Queen.

One record you would keep forever?
It’s also The Beatles, 'Magical Mystery Tour'. It has lots of different types of songs on it and you can have fun with this album. I would like to keep this record forever because I like all the songs.

A song lyric that has inspired you?
The Beatles, too. ‘All You Need Is Love’. This song itself is ‘LOVE’, I think.

Best song to turn up loud?
‘Oh! Darling’ by The Beatles which Paul McCartney made a shout.

A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
‘In Another Land’ by The Rolling Stones. The song called ‘She's A Rainbow’ of this album is famous, but the unique worldview of 'Their Satanic Majesties Request' is awesome.

Any new bands you are listening to now?
The Lemon Twigs - an American band that has UK culture spirit. Right after my friend introduced me to 'Do Hollywood', I bought the record. I like the 'Go To School' released these days as well because it sounds like that they are enjoying their sound.
