Name, where are you from?
Adam Rom, South London.

What do you do?
I'm an artist. Singer, producer and songwriter.

Describe your style in three words?
Baggy/classy/skate.

If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
Two quite contrasting answers but one would be The Free Nationals, their soul and musical ability is awe-inspiring. The other would be One Direction aha, always really enjoyed their music and growing up I was inspired by their success.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
Skateboarding has been something I've loved doing since I was about twelve, the skateboarding community is one that has such a fine taste for clothes, music and other art forms, so it's definitely been one that's shaped some of my fashion sense. Also, the London neo-soul/jazz-rap scene is a culture/sound that just hits me in a different way, the rawness and authenticity of it is something I've really tried to show in my new unreleased work.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Jacob Collier, feel like he and I would get on quite well, in my opinion, he is one of (if not the) most gifted musicians ever. 'He Won't Hold You' is my favourite song by him.

Of all the independent venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
Definitely Camden Assembly, it was the venue I played in the UK and the first show where I really felt the live performance experience.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Lausse the Cat, no one even knows anything about this guy, he's completely anonymous, All I do know is is that the beats are soulful, magical and have such a raw truth behind them and the lyricism and storytelling are some of the most gripping and inspiring I've ever listened to.

04Playlist Notes

The first track you played on repeat?
'Bombay' by Timbaland.

A song that defines the teenage you?
'What If I Go' by Mura Masa (ft. Bonzai).

A song lyric that has inspired you?
"Sunshine come kiss closed eyelids”

From 'Redstripe Rhapsody' by Lausse The Cat.

A song you wished you had written?
'Beauty & Essex' by Free Nationals.

A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'Kill Rock 'n Roll' by System of a Down.

The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
'Forever' by Chris Brown.

Best song to end an all-nighter?
'18' by emawk.
