03Interview

Name, where are you from?
Delilah Holliday, Holloway Road, North London.

What do you do?
Musician & Artist.

Describe your style in three words?
Mystical, Witchy, Esoteric.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Seeing Iggy Pop play in Finsbury Park.

If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
I would want there to be a lot of Rebel spirit in the venue, So I’m gonna have to pick Betty Davis and M.I.A because I love her music, I think also my music would fit perfectly on the lineup with both of these powerhouses

Which subcultures have influenced you?
Punk has definitely influenced me the most. To me it's more than a genre, it’s an outlook on life. You can create anything you want to as long as it's authentic. You don’t have to answer to anyone but yourself.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Jimmi Hendrix, so we could talk guitars, Or ask Billie Holiday what her shows were like in the 1930s, about her life and her favourite perfume.

Of all the independent venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
The Moth Club in London just because it's always as good night there and it's all gold inside.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Alice Coltrane or Dorothy Ashby. Amazingly talented artists and in my opinion deserve more recognition.

A song that defines the teenage you?

From 'The Revolution Will Not Be Televised' by Gil Scott-Heron.

A song you wished you had written?
'6 underground' by Sneaker Pimps.

Best song to turn up loud?
