Get Ready with mi-el

January 2024

1. colourful 2. whimsical 3. fun

It was probably something within the realm of My Chemical Romance or Paramore.

What is your ‘get ready’ ritual?
Get clean, get calm, get fed, get dressed - with a lot of dancing and distractions in between.

You have the aux in a cab, what do you play?
‘Sad Girlz Luv Money’ - Amaarae

Talk us through a typical night out in London, start to finish
I usually find myself zig-zagging around the city, going to bars, playing shows, seeing a friend perform or going to parties they're hosting, then heading back to someone's in the early hours for a civilised afters.

What is your favourite independent venue in London, and why?
Dalston Superstore! It's one of the only queer venues in London. So so soooo needed.

Best song to end an all-nighter?
‘Oooh, Baby’ - Pamoja
