Originally designed for warming up on the tennis court, our Reissues V-neck jumper is the perfect frame for the Fred Perry shirt. Made in Italy from a fine-gauge merino wool.
Fine-gauge merino wool / Single tipped V-neck / Ribbed cuffs, hem and neck / Made in Italy
The Reissues collection takes the Fred Perry archive as its starting point. Each piece references the styles and stories of the subcultural uniform. The V-neck jumper was originally designed in the ‘50s for warming up on the tennis court. It later became a smart staple for subcultural icons and teenagers alike. The perfect frame for the collar and button placket of a shirt, the V-neck was also worn as a statement of classroom rebellion. Like their older siblings, the kids wore the Laurel Wreath to bend the rules, without breaking them. The black/champagne colourway was first worn on the twin tipped Fred Perry shirt in the ‘60s. A subversive take on traditional tennis whites. The colours of anti-establishment dressing.
