Name, where are you from?
OneDa, I am from Manchester.

Describe your style in three words?
Unique, coordinated, casually casual.

If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
Lauryn Hill - she is a big icon for me and has been from childhood. The way she sings and raps flawlessly is the one for me. The other artist I would love to share a stage with is Burna Boy I love his music and his energy.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
I don’t know whether to call this a subculture but I guess it is as it is not adopted by the many - spirituality, and without going into it this has really helped me navigate my life and my mind the last few years.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Harriet Tubman, she was a powerful woman, with a strong mind and big heart. A woman to aspire to, the first woman to lead her own army, and she freed a large number of slaves including herself. She is dope!

Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
I don’t know whether to class this as a venue as it’s a festival but the Chai Wallah stage at Green Man festival was insane, the atmosphere was unlike any I’ve ever felt before whilst on stage, that was very sick.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
There is no one unsung hero I can pinpoint within music without my answer just becoming a question filler and I don’t want to do that. Maybe in five years' time, I will be able to answer this.

OneDa will be performing at Band On The Wall, Manchester alongside Akemi Fox, Karis Jade and Evabee for International Women's Day on 8th March 2022.
