Name, where are you from?
My name is Lexi Jeffs and I’m from South London.

What do you do?
I do lots of stuff! Mainly I make music, but I model and I’m also studying Graphic Design at Kingston University.

Describe your style in three words?
I’ll do it in one: Playful!

Which music defines the teenage you?
I think that would have to be punk-rock for me, particularly the Minor Threat album 'Out Of Step', I remember religiously listening to this on my way to school feeling really rebellious.

What has been your all-time favourite gig?
That would have to be the first gig I ever went to which was Wolf Alice supported by Drenge. It was my first experience of a mosh pit, which is something I’ll never forget! Their song 'Let’s Pretend' captures a glimmer of the atmosphere I was immersed in that night.

A British icon or band who inspire your sound?
Tracey Thorne and Everything But The Girl, incredible music!

04Playlist Notes

What was the first song you played on repeat?
'Can’t Get You Out Of My Head' by Kylie Minogue. This was the first album I ever owned, my mum bought it for me because I was obsessed with listening to this single on the radio.

A song from your favourite album?
Damn! That’s a tough question… I’ll give you my favourite album right now which is 'Modus Vivendi' by 070 Shake and I’ll go with 'Rocketship' but you have to listen to the extended intro that samples 'It’s Forever' by The Ebonys.

A song you wish you’d written?
Definitely 'Starlings' by Elbow, Guy Garvey’s lyrics are spine tingling!

What is the last piece of music you bought?
I haven’t bought anything in ages… probably my last single 'BLIP!'.

Best song to bring people together?
'Let’s Dance' by David Bowie. Anything Nile Rodgers produced! But more specifically his classic with David Bowie.

Best love song of all time?
'Close To You' by Carpenters. I particularly love Stevie Wonder’s cover which Frank Ocean sampled in his own song called 'Close To You'.

Is there a song you like that people wouldn’t expect?
'Beat Again' by JLS. I think the production is really underrated!

What new music/bands are you listening to?
Really enjoying Retropxssy’s latest single 'Part of Me', Future Boy Conan’s song 'Cable!' bangs and my talented friend Lukas Ehlers’s song 'Iris' is exquisite!
