One of the best things to come out of Stockport, in recent years, Blossoms continue to enjoy a fruitful season with another new single lined up to be an instant indie hit.
'Getaway' sees the band enrol video director James Slater who appears to have drawn on some key influences: two parts 'The Man Who Fell to Earth', one part 'The Boy From Space'. The result is an eerie retro-graded science fiction set against a North of England landscape, that looks as though it could have been pulled from the BFI archive, complete with disused quarries and iconic British pylons. Watch and listen below.
The band started 2016 by coming No.4 in the BBC Sound Poll. The new single, ‘Getaway’, follows on from the band’s impressive EP ‘At Most A Kiss’ which went straight to No.1 in the iTunes chart. The title track from the EP was on the A-List at 6 Music as well as the B-List at Radio 1 and Absolute radio and the daytime playlist at Radio X.
Blossoms have just completed their biggest ever UK tour which included sold out shows at London’s Scala and Manchester’s Albert Hall, and also supported The Last Shadow Puppets on their recent Dublin dates.
The band will be performing at various festivals throughout the UK this summer including appearances at Glastonbury, T in the Park, Reading and Leeds, Parklife, Kendal Calling, Festival No.6 and more.
