Blueberry Hill, a quintet hailing from Barcelona have just released their new album entitled Giants. It was recorded in Reykjavik (Iceland) under the orders of Sturla Mio Thorisson in the Greenhouse studios where the likes of Björk, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy and CocoRosie have previously recorded.
Giants will be a leap forwards in the band’s career. Their last work Thanks (2007) had accents of Americana and country rock and was produced with help from Garth Hudson (The Band) and masterized by Richard Dodd (George Harrison, Johnny Cash, Tom Petty), whereas this time they search for beauty by mixing colours with boldness. On occasions their music is balmy and melancholic; on others optimistic or breezy.
