Tuesday 19th September 2017

'It’s Pop It’s Art' is a new project bringing illustration and typography together with iconic song lyrics, in a series of limited edition, silkscreen prints featuring iconic lines made famous by musical legends.

‘I Fought The Law’ Designed by Alex May Hughes

Capturing the sentiment of artists including The Beatles, The Clash, Madness and Motörhead, the first nine prints are designed by Jody Barton, Studio Moross and Alex May Hughes. In an age where music is freely streamed and downloaded in digital formats, the prints give a new physical presence to songs such as 'I Fought The Law' and 'Our House'.

Jody Barton's previous work has included designs for Florence + The Machine, Beck and Phoenix. Studio Moross' musical clients have included Disclosure, Wild Beasts, Young Turks and Sam Smith. Alex May Hughes is a sign painter and glass gilder with a graphic design background, who in 2014 appeared on Fred Perry's Tipped list of promising young creatives.

The prints officially licensed by Sony/ATC Music Publishing will be limited to 150 copies each.
