Passion and integrity is what separated these acts from their peers. Not to mention the perfect storm that comes from teaming a crazy-as-they’re-charismatic vocalist with a furiously tight band.
Lois & The Love are one of those rare bands that have all of this and more.Lois & The Love believe that if you’re close to your music you want to keep it true. That’s why their sound has such authenticity in the studio and on stage.
Strummerville – Joe Strummer’s foundation – recognised L&TL’s potential early on and provided them with the means to record what will be their first singles:
‘Rabbit Hole’/’Dark Serenade’ (to be released November 19th 2012). Plus ‘War’ and ‘Eye of the Storm’ in 2013. The songs have a raw power that is set in astonishing soundscapes, which reflect the depth and variety of their influences. They’re are entirely produced and mixed by the band, meaning that they’re a true expression of they’re about. Listen here (soundcloud.com/loisandthelove). L&TL go back in the studio to start on their album early 2013.
On stage the band’s mastery of their instruments and the channelling of Lois’s natural craziness, into her insanely distinctive voice gives an unparalleled intensity to their live performances. Reviewers have noticed:
They’ve earned these plaudits through hard graft, gaining their stripes in some of London’s most seedy dives. Though more recently, performances in Koko, Camden, a residency in East London’s legendary The Macbeth, and festival appearances at Lovebox and Strummer of Love have proven that L&TL are on the path to much bigger things.
