With a savage drummer, a bombastic bassist, a mesmerizing keyboardist and a charismatic guitarist with dreamy vocals, PAUW takes you on unforgettable trip that will remain with you for a long time.
One fateful night, three friends from The Netherlands with a huge passion for 60s and 70s psychedelic music, decided to jam together. With Rens Ottink on drums, Eszl du Vois on bass and organ and Brian Pots on guitar and vocals, PAUW was born. Taking refuge in an old pig barn that was transformed overnight into a studio, it was here in 2014 that they recorded their first set of demos. Sometime later multi-instrumentalist Kees Braam, roadie of the band since day one, joined the band as the keyboardist.
Refortified as a quartet, PAUW recorded their debut album 'Macrocosm Microcosm' in 2015.
Released in January of 2016 the album has had great reviews earning them favourable comparisons to psychedelic contemporaries such as Tame Impala, Temples and their fellow native Jacco Gardner.
“Sitting somewhere between Tame Impala’s dreamier moments and Temples more beat driven take on ‘60s psych, ‘Macrocosm Microcosm’ is a highly accomplished collection for a group so young.”
"'Macrocosm Microcosm' by PAUW is one of the most highly anticipated Dutch albums of the year.”
“A fairylike debut album with elegant melodies.”
"With a pop edge toned to perfection they lather on the character with huge leaps of mystic eastern edge to their commanding hooks, Shambala is as anthemic as psychedelia gets."

“With a debut album like this in the pocket, there’s no doubt PAUW will continue their victory march.”

Having already supported Temples and Elephant Stone, played an after-show for Kasabian and blowing audiences away with their first UK gig at Liverpool Psych fest last year, PAUW followed that up with a string of European dates throughout November and December last year. You can catch PAUW playing at the Dutch Impact showcase on March 4 at Bodo's Schloss, London.
The next single to be taken from 'Macrocosm Microcosm’ is ‘Memories’, a buoyant psychedelic tune which you can stream via Soundcloud below:
