One of New York City's finest exports are back with another infectious indie anthem.
Public Access TV are a NYC based quartet whose eagerly awaited debut album is already shaping up as a contender to be one of the best in 2016 - based on what we have heard so far.
PATV's musical syle has a distinctly British influence - drawing inspiration from 70's Punk and 90's Britpop - their latest single 'On Location', taken from their debut album, seems to continue that trend. You can listen to it below. Frontman John Eatherly had this to say about the new single...
"Sometimes you just gotta go with your gut instinct, even if leads to being down and out. A lot of people think they know better than you, and are gonna tell you what to do in life. This song is about being fed up with those people and doing whatever the fuck it is you wanna do anyway."
Their early singles 'Monaco' and 'In The Mirror', which were released towards the end of 2014 put PATV on the map with a bang and had critics dubbing them the hottest new band in New York. Fast forward to Spring 2015 and the release of their 'Public Access EP' was also met with critical acclaim.
At the same time they were building up a reputation on the live circuit, touring with bands like The Strokes, Fidlar and Palma Violets. After playing live so much, the band felt the need to get into the studio right away to capture their new momentum. They recorded the double AA side single 'In Love and Alone / Patti Peru' while in London over the summer and released it towards the end of last year. Both tracks from the single will be featured on the band's debut album next year.
You can watch the video for 'In Love and Alone' and listen to 'Patti Peru' below.
Talking about the video, frontman John Eatherly said...
"For this video I wanted to show what we do on a typical night in our world. We filmed this video right after coming back from tour, and when you get home after being together for weeks you think 'I need a break from these guys'... But we always end up just calling each other and hanging out within a couple hours."
