Hotly tipped Parisian duo, SALM (SomethingALaMode) released their new single feat. Dan Black 'Toy Spark Gun' this winter and are primed to set the season ablaze.
After the successful release of « Prophet 21 », unanimously acclaimed by the likes of MTV, Vibe, Clash Magazine, Les Inrocks, Konbini, Premiere, Beatport or Mixmag, SALM are back with their new single « Toy Spark Gun », extract from their forthcoming album. Featuring the singer of The Servant, (famous for their worldwide hit « Orchestra ») Dan Black had since collaborated with Kid Cudi, Kaskade or Kelis to name a few. Toy Spark Gun announces the return of SALM to their pop roots with more maturity and their unique blend of hi octane, stylised house with a peppering of big room electro.
The EP also include some tasty remixes with the electro-pop vibe from Teen Daze, a heavy UK techno by The Japanese Popstars, the housy nap from Leo Kalyan and the club killer drops from Botnek. Out november 25th !
Strong fashion leanings aside, Karl Lagerfeld featured in the group's first single; SALM's debut album garnered critical acclaim from fans and peers alike back in 2009. Both Music College graduates, Thomas and Yannick adopt an academic approach to party music, infusing both their passion for Stravinski as well as Daft Punk.
SALM's career trajectory has been skyrocketing ever since. Having shared the stage with fellow luminaries like The Bloody Beetroots, Gonzales, Jeff Mills, Madeon, Icona Pop and Zedd. They also sold 15,000 copies of their first album and toured cities from Koko in London, to Cigale in Paris and Krysha Mira in Moscow. Regulars on the fashion circuit, the duo have played at various shows including Issey Miyake, Thierry Mugler and Chanel.
SALM’s highly anticipated sophomore long player titled, 'Endless Stairs', to be released February 2014.
