'Acts of Fear and Love'

Saturday 14th July 2018

Slaves will release their third album 'Acts of Fear and Love' on 18th August (2018) following one of the funniest promotional campaigns for an album in recent years, which involved Slaves advertising on social media for a new drummer, following the departure of Isaac Holman to become a professional dancer. The resulting audition forms the basis for the video for their new song 'Chokehold' which features some familiar faces among the hopeful applicants.

All joking aside, the album release is surrounded by rumours of guest appearances and in an interview with the NME earlier this year Laurie Vincent stated: "We’re heavily influenced by Britpop and Blur – we want that ‘Song 2’ moment.”

Fred Perry Subculture have been fans of Slaves since their emergence in 2014 when we caught up with them at Dot to Dot Festival.

Since the Tunbridge Wells duo broke onto the scene with songs such as 'Where's Your Car Debbie?', they have also found time to start their own label, Girl Fight Records, taking its name from the made-up label name that they used to release their first EP, and staying in touch with their DIY punk beginnings.
