The classic American power pop group Sorrows has resurfaced and will be touring the West Coast in September in support of their recent LP, Bad Times Good Times, on Bomp! Records. The album collects previously unreleased recordings, demos and live performances on CD and limited edition red vinyl.

Formed in 1977 in New York City by Arthur Alexander, Joey Cola, Ricky Street and Jett Harris, Sorrows specialized in robust melodies, compelling hooks, inspired harmonies, a dominant  backbeat and hard-driving guitars—staples of the power pop sound pioneered by Big Star and The Raspberries and mined for gold by Cheap Trick. The band were also regulars at influential NYC punk clubs CBGB’s and Max’s Kansas City. Sorrows released two critically acclaimed albums (Teenage Heartbreak (1980) and Love Too Late (1981)) and a handful of singles on CBS/Pavilion (now highly sought-after collector’s items) before disbanding in the mid-80s.
