The Windmill Brixton and Fred Perry Subculture have teamed up to present an all-day line up of independent new music in one of London's best independent venues.
The spiritual home of artists including Fat White Family, Goat Girl, Black Midi and Cosmo Pyke, The Windmill has emerged in recent years as one of the most important breeding grounds for British talent. Frequently cited as a favourite venue by bands and artists in our Subculture Playlists, The Windmill has bucked the sad trend of gentrification, venue closures and corporate takeovers, providing an affordable place for the people of Brixton and South London to see and play music.
The Super8 line up brings together some of the most promising and original emerging artists. Each act offers something different - all guaranteed to provide an inspiring summer day of great music. From the experimental electro of Jessica Winter, known for her work with Pregoblin and Fat White Family to recent Heavenly Recordings signing Katy J Pearson, to the genre-defying sounds of Famous and Lynks Afrikka. Like The Windmill and Fred Perry Subculture, it's a line up that looks to the future.
