The Turning are a four-piece garage-rock n roll band based in West London.

Taking influence from much of the British beat music of the 60's, including Motown and Freakbeat bands and Mod Revival of the late 70's, they also embrace the 90’s Brit Rock scene, and list influences as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Who, The Small Faces, The Doors, The Velvet Underground, T-Rex, David Bowie, Slade, Dr Feelgood, Elvis Costello, The Sex Pistols, The Jam, The Smiths, The Stone Roses, Oasis, Kasabian, The Arctic Monkeys, The Moons and Miles Kane.

Their latest release 'I Don't Wanna Do That' is a available as a free download here, as well as their storming, top tune 'Settle For That' which is available for free download above, right here on Fred Perry Subculture. It combines quirky riffs with youthful energy, resulting in a beautifully retrospective single.

The Turning had a very busy 2014 having gigged extensively around the UK and Europe including a tour with their mates The Strypes. 2015 proves to be even busier.

The band play the Reading Facebar on Sunday 15th March, and Southampton Lennons on 21st, before they perform at Proud Camden on 2nd April on the same bill as Bez from The Happy Mondays as well as a host of other great acts. More details here.

Their mini album Settle For That is available for purchase here
