Name, where are you from?
Hamish - Glasgow, Scotland.

Describe your style in three words?
Monochrome, classic, unique.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
There are too many to choose from - I’ll have to go from recent memory and that would be The Chemical Brothers at Latitude last year (2021). It was amazing for a couple of reasons, obviously the show itself but it was the first festival in years I had been to with all ma pals and we were all just fulla love and dancing away in the rain.

If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
The Prodigy and The Pogues.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
Awk loads if I’m honest, I think that’s the beauty of today's society - subcultures are being constantly mixed and matched and in turn, it is creating new "sub-subcultures" for lack of a better expression. From when I was younger I was massive on skinhead styles and music big on ska and reggae but as I’ve grown older, parts of those styles stayed with me but I’ve gone through an '80s gothic stage and currently really hitting that '90s rave dress sense with elements of the other two mentioned. I think it is important to evolve and not pigeonhole yourself to one subculture forever (although power to those that do it is admirable).

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history, who would you choose?
Billy Connelly.

Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
My band have just come off a tour where we supported White Lies around the UK and over in Ireland. Played many class venues, but I have to say going onstage at the Hammersmith Apollo in London was a bit of a fever dream.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
One of my favourites of all time has to be Rowland S. Howard.

04Playlist Notes

The first track you played on repeat?
'The Ketchup Song' by Las Ketchup.

A song that defines the teenage you?
'It's My Own Cheating Heart That Makes Me Cry' by Glasvegas.

One record you would keep forever?
'Beetlebum' by Blur (first 7” bought).

A song lyric that has inspired you?
"Take it by both hands, and shake it if it needs it"

From 'Memories' by The Amazing Snakeheads.

The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
'Encore Une Fois' by Sash!, Future Breeze.

Best song to turn up loud?
'Omen' by The Prodigy.

A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'Sleeping On The Blacktop' by Colter Wall.

Best song to end an all-nighter on?
'My Rifle, My Pony and Me' by Dean Martin.

Any new music you are listening to right now?
'I Have A Love' by For Those I Love.
'French Touch' by BETA WAVES.
