03Interview

Describe your style in three words?

Out of date.

The first track you played on repeat?

The Beach Boys - Wouldn’t It Be Nice

My mum had it on record and I’d make her play it over and over when I was a child.

A song from your favorite album?

The Coasters - Down in Mexico

So this is kind of a cheat I don’t really have a favourite album I tend to listen to film soundtracks and death proof has a great one.

A song from your most memorable gig?

FIDLAR - Bad Habits

This gig was in Manchester at The Ritz I think it was my favourite band at the time but the reason it was memorable is because it’s where I had my first kiss with my boyfriend of 6 years now.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

Billy Ocean - Love Really Hurts Without You

I just have a lot of memories singing and dancing to this song with some of my closest friends, just makes me happy.

A new song you're listening to?

The Garden - The King Of Cutting Corners

I’ve liked the garden for a while and when they released this album was super excited to listen, they’re definitely the coolest twins and I use them. As style inspo a lot, I love a guy in a dress.

Best song to turn up loud?

Death Grips - I've Seen Footage

This isn’t necessarily my favourite death grips song but I feel like it’s a good gateway song for someone who hasn’t heard them before, death grips are great to listen to when I’m stressed or mad haha weirdly calming.

A song that defines the teenage you?

Cage The Elephant - Spiderhead

I was obsessed with cage the elephant in high school and I would play this album on repeat when I drove myself to college, I still like them now just more of a nostalgia thing.

An anthemic song?

The Prodigy - Firestarter

This is just such a tune, I remember hearing it at Housepartys and Being so wrecked and unable to get up and then it would come on and I literally would rise from the dead to continue the party.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

Jai Paul - BTSTU - Edit

I used to think this was literally the sickest song especially at 9 am after a night out with no sleep at the time he only had like 3 songs out which was annoying but I’m pretty sure he’s released more now.
