Where are you from?
Hertfordshire

What do you do?
Singer, songwriter & musician.

Describe your style in three words?
Really cool dude.

You can make a record with anyone from history?
David Bowie because he would make the best song I've ever made. e.g. 'All The Young Dudes'.

What do you miss about home when you're on tour?
Having a bed and just generally all my family and friends.

What’s the best show you’ve ever been to?
St Vincent headlining Green Man Fest a few years ago, beyond incredible, the encore was 'Your Lips Are Red' and it was maybe the best 10-minute version of a 4 min song ever.

What British music icons inspire your sound today?
Blur are a big one for me, pretty much all of Damon Albarn's projects, but Blur were one of the first bands I got into, but I still definitely take a lot of influence from them.

You can spend an hour with anyone from history?
Socrates, just to find out whether he's real.

A young Singer-songwriter with a true voice who we tipped as part of our British New Wave 2017. Indie pop that's topical, political and relevant.

Declan's debut album 'What Do You Think About The Car?' will be released 21st July 2017.

04Playlist Notes

What was the first song you played on repeat?
Probably 'Sleeping With The Light On' by Busted.

One record you would keep forever?
'Graceland' by Paul Simon. The track 'I know What I Know'.

A song you wish you had written?
'Like a Prayer' by Madonna.

A song that defines the teenage you?
'The Visitors' by ABBA.

A song lyric that inspires you?
"Who can shoot the most dead birds out the sky,
then spread a lie, and say you know why?"

'Guvnor' by JJ Doom.

4 songs you can’t stop listening to right now?

'Wish You Would' by Mykki Blanco + Princess Nokia.

'How Was Your Day?' by Mellow Fellow + Clairo.

'Plastic' by Will Joseph Cook.

'Where Did I Go?' by Jorja Smith.
