Name, where are you from?
Kojaque, from Dublin.

Describe your style in three words?
The Charity shop.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
King Krule at the Academy was one of my favourite shows I've been to. The energy and flow of the show was sick, the stripped back production and his players are out of this world. 'Emergency Blimp' is a belter.

If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
Frank Ocean and Talking Heads, they're both very forward-thinking artists, I love David Byrne's approach to music and his stage design is incredible, Frank Ocean has a similar buzz when it comes to stage design too, although I've never seen him live, so really I'd be there as a fan.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
I'd love to chill with Kevin Parker, he's such a weapon, I'd just try to steal his secrets.

Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
I like playing festival slots, tents and sh*t, that stuff feels like rockstar sh*t.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Mik Pyro from Republic of Loose is a hero of mine, I feel like they're pretty underrated as a band, their album 'Aaagh!' is such a brilliant album.

Kojaque was one of twelve artists that performed at Fred Perry Subculture's All Our Tomorrows all-dayer at London's 100 Club in October 2018. Find out more here.

04Playlist Notes

The first track you played on repeat?
It's not the first but I've had 'Nights' by Frank Ocean on repeat for two years.

A song that defines the teenage you?
'Always Like This' by Bombay Bicycle Club.

One record you would keep forever?
'Blonde' by Frank Ocean.

A song lyric that has inspired you?
"Promise that you will sing about me."

From 'Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst' by Kendrick Lamar.

The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
'Doorman' by Slowthai.

Best song to end an all-nighter on?
If you wanna cry just play 'Blonde' and think about your bad decisions.

Any new music you are listening to right now?
'The Back of Her' by Junior Brother.
'Gladly' by Tirzah.
'Come On (You Know I'm A Fool)' by Mk.Gee.
