03Interview

Name, where are you from?
Millie Turner, East London.

Describe your style in three words?
Eclectic, confused, messy.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
I went this free gig a while back, don't know who the band was even to this day, but this woman gets on stage with a glitter catsuit, high heels, wild bold makeup and completely transformed the stage. Oblivious to the audience she completely took off on stage her voice was insane and she’d dance these wild dance moves, ending up lying on the stage. I was in awe the whole time. It broke me I swear.

If you could be on the line up with any artist in history?
[Frédéric] Chopin, I love high ceilings and big chandeliers.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Leonardo da Vinci, I have a lot of respect for his creative methods and think we could create something funky together.

Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
I loved playing at the Ace Hotel, it was a low-key show for a small audience, mostly kids, but the view was beautiful, I could see all of London.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
I'd say my unsung hero is Chilly Gonzales. He's amazing and his piano play is inspiring.

Millie Turner released her new single 'Swimming Pool' in June 2019, listen, stream or purchase it at millieturner.lnk.to/swimmingpoolFa.

Frightened by my feelings,
I only wanna be a relief."
