03Interview

Describe your style in three words?

Comfortable, Classic, Casual.

The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?

Arctic Monkeys - Fluorescent Adolescent

At home with my dad. When I was about 6 my parents bought me a 7" single vinyl carry case, jam packed with vinyls! 'Fluorescent Adolescent' happened to be the one which stuck with me.

A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?

KAYTRANADA - Gray Area (feat. Mick Jenkins)

One of my new favourite albums, love this track as well as : Vex Oh (feat. Eight9fly) & 10% with Kali Uchis.

A song from your most memorable gig?

The Specials - Embarrassed By You

The Specials at Coventry Cathedral in 2019! Hands down one of the best concerts I have been to to date. I was photographing from the pit throughout the whole concert, meanwhile juggling my camera and my phone to do an Instagram live on their socials.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

Gorillaz - She's My Collar (feat. Kali Uchis)

A new classic. I can remember a few years back first hearing this song at Demon Dayz Fest at Dreamland in Margate. Best moment was when Kali Uchis joined Damon Albarn on stage, the crowd went crazy!

A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?

Jorja Smith - Be Honest (feat. Burna Boy)

A new one from Jorja & Burna Boy... Also listening to Simmer by Mahalia & Burna Boy. (Alongside the new album from KAYTRANADA of course!)

Best song to turn up loud? And why?

Mura Masa - Deal Wiv It

It just has to be.

A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?

Drake - Get It Together

I am still a teenager but has to be this one... A tune.

An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?

Lupe Fiasco - Kick, Push

:)

Best song to end an all-nighter?

A Tribe Called Quest - Butter

ATCQ all the way.
