Name?
Veso

Where are you from?
Liverpool

What do you do?
I play the guitar and write songs with The Jackobins.

Describe your style in three words?
Modern Boho Rocker.

If you could make a record with anyone from history?
It will have to be Nick Drake. Why? Well, he's a genius! You'll hardly find anyone more unique or with such incredible lyrical and musical ability. Not to mention how captivating and haunting his voice is. Five Leafs Left is one of my favourite albums and it's always on repeat. You know you got something special when people listen to your music 50 years after and it sounds like it could've been released today.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to and why?
The Libertines at The Empire in Coventry. It was a secret warm up show just before they went off on their stadium tour. To me, they're a band that works much better on a smaller stage feeding off the audience and I was in the first couple of rows which made the show extra special.

What British music icons inspire your sound today?
I'll have to go with David Bowie. His music is multi dimensional and constantly changing and evolving. It can connect with you from your most primal to your deepest feelings.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Hunter S. Thompson or Frank Zappa, If you only have an hour you might as well go weird and truthful to the bone.

Which British subculture means the most to you?
It's a toss up between the Hippies and New Romantics. They both offered a new outlook on things and try to liberate the minds of your people by challenging some really outdated concepts. I don't believe they completely succeeded as maybe at times they were too soft, but they sure planted the seeds of social change.

If you could share the bill with any British band in history?
I'd love to share the stage with Led Zeppelin (band in the 70's). They had the swagger, the look, the music. There was a good amount of mystery and raw power, they were just a force to be reckoned with. It's no wonder they had such an impact on modern music.

What music did you listen to growing up?
It was very blues and classic rock influenced with mixtures of folk rock, hard rock and alternative. I'd say one of my all time favourites up to this day is Stevie Ray Vaughan. He is the reason why I picked up the guitar.
