We collaborate with G.H. Bass & Co. on an adaptation of their original tassel loafer. Made from rich polished leather with hand stitched seams in waxy thread, we add a thick, ridged commando outsole with contrast trim and tartan in-sock.
Established in 1876 by George Henry Bass, G.H. Bass & Co. started out with a simple motto: “To make the best possible shoe for the purpose for which it was intended.” In 1936, the brand put a stylish spin on a Norwegian farm shoe designed for ‘loafing in the field,’ and playfully dubbed them Weejuns – introducing the world’s very first penny loafer. Adopted by presidents and Hollywood legends alike, the G.H. Bass loafer has been a smart staple and key part of the subcultural uniform. We adapt the original design with heavy-duty subcultural styling and subtle Fred Perry details: chunky sole, tartan in-sock and contrast tipping detail.
