Hailing from Quebec City, Canada, Micoe made her first steps in the musical world at the TroisPistoles French School, where her father worked as an entertainment agent. Back then, she had the opportunity to meet several Canadian and European artists.
Micoe was first tempted by the theater, having been admitted to the Conservatory of Dramatic Arts of Quebec. While training to be an actress, she enjoyed every opportunity to sing. In 1998, she moved to Montreal, Canada, and took part in different television, advertising, film, series and theater projects. However, her interest in music kept growing and she finally decided to take up classical and pop singing as well as guitar and bass lessons. Despite her attachment to the French music, Micoe wanted to make it her own way by focusing on contemporary artists. She first sang songs from Yann Perreau, Mickey 3D,Camille, PJ Harvey, Blonde Redhead and Portishead, before starting to write her own material.
Having always been adventurous, Micoe went to France, Spain, Australia, Asia, United States and almost everywhere across Canada. Human contact, destabilization, sensitivity, openmindedness; her trips around the world considerably influenced her writing. Eager for new experiences, she participated in 2004 to an important Canadian competition called Ma première Place des Arts, where she made it through semi-finals. In 2005, she joined Philippe Gaudet and his band, Seismic Cry, with whom she made her debut as a singer. Two years later, they launched the English album "Reverence", which received a warm welcome abroad, in the progressive music industry.
Following this incredible experience, she began to compose her own songs. In 2007, she presented "Lueur" at the Place des Arts, her first show as a songwriter and performer. Very confident on stage, she seduced the crowd with her raw voice and minimalist lyrics.
Resourceful and independent, she touched several aspects of the music industry, as a producer and artistic director. In 2008, Micoe met Eric Goulet during a performance at the ChantEauFête of Charlevoix. Eric, who is a major figure of the alternative music scene of Montreal (Monsieur Mono, Les Chiens, Vincent Vallière, Yan Perreau, etc.), directed her first EP in 2010.
In 2011, Micoe went to France to release her EP in Paris. It was a first effective contact for she signed a contract with the French producer and publisher WTPL and the famous label Booster. Later that year, she locked herself up in a little cottage, with nothing but her bass and guitar, for nine weeks to compose her first album. Based on her multiple travelling experiences around the world, the album titled "À retardement" finally born. The sound of Micoe, who built up her own mysterious universe, is a mix of electro-pop usually heard in the Nordic countries, similar to the Scandinavian bands Lykke Li or Taken by trees or even Grimes, Purity ring, Solange, Alunageorge and the XX .
The album A retardement comes out in Canada in spring 2012 and the same year in Europe, in november. It's because of this european release that Micoe returns in France and Switzerland for a series of shows.
