Danish singer Karen Marie Ørsted, better known as is ready to show the world her individualistic approach to music production.

‘Make people feel what you feel, then you’ve hit the spot, that’s why I’m doing it.’

Watch below MØ performing her single ‘Pilgrim’ for Moonlab studios and speaking up about why she loves what she does. Underlying trumpet sounds reinforce the deep, soulful undertones of the track. Celebrating a really relaxed approach to music, there is a laid-back ambiance about the sound. It seems the more times you listen to it the more you realise the detail, time and attention put into this. This has touches of some of the older RJD2 classics, which work really well alongside the talented MØ’s voice.

Her track ‘Maiden,’ has a kind of 80’s synth opening beat which is cleverly combined with the clean sounds of MØ’s voice and then develops into a more layered, deeper track with an undeniably delicate guitar riff.

MØ’s music explores Hip-Hop beats, hints of classical reworked tunes with a touch of modernity, captivating beats and unexpected trips. There’s a kind of energetic intelligence behind the music production, not forgetting the guitar riffs, MØ hasn’t lost her sense of classic music production. Some comparisons could be drawn to the Australian producer Flume, as well as MIA and Grimes, who also incorporate alternative touches of Hip-Hop into their music with big bass synth beats.

Waste of Time’ has underlying Hip-Hop tones with deep bass synths running through.

The most recent release is 'XXX 88' - a collaboration track with Diplo. This time with R&B references throughout, the Danish singer does not disappoint with an upbeat track sure to hit dance floors. This track is a ballad inspired by the 90’s but twisted and churned back out again into now.
