03Interview

Describe your style in three words?

Gothic renaissance schoolgirl.

The first track you played on repeat?

The Jam - In The City

Sounds very cliche but I feel this song perfectly describes what it feels to live in NYC, I can replay this for hours while walking down the street.

A song from your favorite album?

Bakar - Big Dreams

Every song from this album is a favorite but this one in particular I feel describes my youth right now.

A song from your most memorable gig?

HYUKOH - Wanli Wanli万里

I saw Hyukoh live back in 2018, they're one of my favorite groups of all time. The entire audience was in a trance once this started playing. The intro to this song never fails to captivate me and the instrumentals are just too good.

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

Satan's Rats - You Make Me Sick

I'm always jumping around my room whenever this song comes on, I came across it while watching High Fidelity and I've been obsessed since.

A new song you're listening to?

Deerhoof - Ay That's Me

Anything by Deerhoof is amazing but this is a recent song I came across that just won't escape my head.

Best song to turn up loud?

Beach Goons - Anirak

This song at night while being surrounded by your friends is the best, deserves to be blasted through the ceiling even if it upsets your neighbors >.<

A song that defines the teenage you?

Milkavelli - Lock and Load

I listened to this all throughout high school, the lines "I feel comfy on my own" is something I feel everyone must learn during those stages of growing up.

An anthemic song?

Kris Kross - Jump

This song brings me back to my childhood and everyone at cookouts just dancing along, its such a feel good song.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

Requin Chagrin - Sémaphore

I always listen to this song on the train by myself whenever I leave a party or event. I feel the lyrics resonate so well.
