Name, where are you from?
Wu-Lu, Brixton, South London.

Describe your style in three words?
Baggy / neutral / earthy.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Connan Mockasin - me and my brother went to this gig together and I didn’t know much about him. But once we were in the middle of the crowd and the heat started getting to me the band came out and did the slowest set I have ever seen. I felt like time had stopped, it was amazing.

If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
Slipknot and Outkast. These two groups describe the full energy of both sides of my writing. My first opportunity to spend money on music was the moment that I realised that these groups really describe where my creativity lays.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
Skateboarding and graffiti. These subcultures made me feel as though there were no limits to what you can achieve and I relayed that back to my music. Also if you have the right crowd around you it makes me feel I could do anything with no judgement. The whole get up and go attitude.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
It would probably be Jimi Hendrix because I feel like I will be able to ask him questions about him being a person of colour and making the music he did. He/his music was always labelled good because he was seen as an "other" within the rock and roll scene or was there something else behind the thinking of people who wanted to invest in his career.

Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
The Windmill, Brixton. It's right on my doorstep and it's a place where full expression is encouraged; it makes you feel like you're part of something and it is always with open arms. Plus the fact that my favourite gigs I have ever done were performed there.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Kurt Cobain helped me through a lot of tough times in my early years and definitely allowed me to find a love within guitar music and hip-hop. Also showed me that nothing is the way it seems in life and music.
