Name? Where are you from?
Laurel. Portsmouth.

Describe your style in three words?
Crazy pattern queen.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to (and why)?
Ariel Pink at Heaven. He’s such an enigma. The set swung in a million directions throughout. I love how different all of his songs sound- completely unrestricted.

If you could be on the line up with any two bands in history?
Talking Heads. They are my favourite band. I am in absolute awe, I would have loved to have seen them live too. I actually do a cover of this song on my own set.

Bjork. She is such a genius, sharing a stage with her would be a dream.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
DIY music scene.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history - who would it be and why?
Jesus Christ. He’s probably the number one mystery man. I have a few questions for him.

Of all the venues you’ve played, which is your favourite?
I played the Omera last year, which was amazing, its such a good venue. The stage looks really beautiful in pictures, it’s the perfect sort of size for a cosy venue that feels big.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
'Only You' by SteveMonite. This is one of the most amazing songs I’ve ever heard. I think he’s beginning to be known as quite a legend, butstill nobody seems to know anything about him, but this song.

Rising UK starlet Laurel released her debut album 'Dogviolet' in August 2018, a collection of personal and bittersweet love songs, all written and recorded in Laure's home studio in East London.
