Watch Tei Shi perform 'Bassically' and 'Go Slow' at Dot to Dot 2015.
One of the most entrancing and hypnotic performances at Dot to Dot 2015 came from hotly tipped Argentinian born artist, Tei Shi.
Back with more music in the form of a brand new EP, 'Verde' which released on Mermaid Avenue. The EP features the infectious pop anthem "Bassically," a track which went straight to #1 on Hype Machine and was described by Gorilla vs Bear as "one of the more badass, body-movin jams we've heard this year."
NYLON premiered the video for the track, directed by Nicholas Pesce, saying: "If you're not already familiar, a good introduction to her sound-which deftly explores the borderline of electro-pop and R&B-is her song "Bassically." The nearly five-minute-long track juxtaposes her signature soft, dreamy vocals with a heavy, percussive synth and a bumping bassline before building to a climax. It's both seductive, energetic, and insanely catchy."
Tei Shi notes, "I wanted the video to look like what the song sounds like - fun and empowering without taking itself too seriously. So we created a fun fictional comic world with a troop of bad ass girls"
