A UK kick-ass rock band

Tuesday 22nd May 2012

Steeped in the UK’s undercurrent of nasty, kick-ass rocknroll bands that is becoming ever-prevalent, Turbowolf unleashed their self-titled debut full length album on 11.11.11 on Hassle Records (Cancer Bats, Trash Talk).  Recorded in their hometown of Bristol, musically it sits somewhere between 80's punk rock, 70s riff freakouts and 60's psychedelia. It's a heavy sound with moments of complex madness bound together with a sense of melody and pop aesthetics. Wild erratic jams meet short sharp attention grabbing bursts, cavernous guitar riffs tear through tripped out jams, melodious vocal lines sit on top of huge choruses, whilst tight grooves bind the whole mixture together.

Turbowolf have paid their dues honing their delivery on a series of UK tours & shows with the likes of Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, The Computers, Pulled Apart By Horses & Dinosaur Pile-Up. Last year’s trek around Europe with Korn & Dimmu Borgir is also well documented and showed how brilliantly their live show can transfer to the bigger stages. They’ve also been very active on the festival circuit clocking up performances at Download, Sonisphere, Lovebox, Great Escape, SXSW, Boardmasters & Hevy amongst others.

Turbowolf delivered one of the most gruelling and fierce performances at Dot to Dot Festival 2012.
