03Interview

Describe your style in three words?

Quirky, unique, punky

The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?

Green Day - Jesus of Suburbia

My dad used to play this album in the car on all our journeys out. I remember being about 12/13 and listening to it on my iPod all the time, amazed by this really long song that was so badass. The guitar riffs are so good and I loved the fact it has so many parts and a storyline.

A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?

The Cure - Pictures Of You - Remastered

Such a beautiful song. Always makes me feel emotional listening to it. Hearing it a live a couple of times has made me appreciate it even more. The long intro with the guitars is super dreamy, Robert’s voice is so haunting and makes you feel the heartache.

A song from your most memorable gig?

The Killers - For Reasons Unknown

Leeds Direct Arena 2017, The Killers have always been my favorite band (seen them 12 times). This is such a heartbreaking/passionate song. Went up on my boyfriends shoulders. Later checked Facebook to see The Killers had uploaded a photo of me on shoulders singing my heart out!

A song that always gets you up and dancing?

The Cure - Just Like Heaven

My feelgood song! It’s a song that me and my boyfriend always dance to. We always listened to it when we were about to meet each other on our first few dates (we’re long distance). It just makes me feel so happy listening to it, beautiful love song, gets me excited for summer!

A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?

Foals - On The Luna

Very excited for their comeback, brilliant live band. Makes me feel like summer’s round the corner. Super catchy!

Best song to turn up loud? And why?

DON BROCO - Got to Be You

Such a passionate song. Always listen to it on my iPod speakers at full volume. Finally got to hear it live this year and it’s a banger. Rob Damiani has such a raspy voice in it, feels pretty emotional, I love it.

A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?

The Vaccines - If You Wanna

Makes me think of my teenage years hanging out in parks, listening to the Vaccines out loud on repeat and going to gigs every couple of nights. I must have seen the Vaccines about 10 times through my teenage years.

An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?

Bloc Party - Flux

You could go to any indie bar and the good majority of people would singalong to this. One of those songs you just shout the chorus to.

Best song to end an all-nighter?

Kasabian - Ill Ray (The King)

A great banger that gets everyone super hyped and jumping around like the party’s never ending!
