Describe your style in three words?
Whatever feels good.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Ji: I saw Neil Young a couple of years ago at Hyde Park and it was other-worldly. His guitar playing has lost none of its edge and I really respect that he played a set of songs that he thought would fit the vibe, rather than wheeling out a greatest hits set and going through the motions.

If you could be on the line up with any three artists in history?
A & Ji: Thin Lizzy, mainly because they’re the reason we both picked up the guitar and we’re still massive fans!
C: Bob Marley.
T: Jimi Hendrix.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
C: We seem to have drawn in a pretty cool community of kindred creatives that surround the London scene, it’s really fun to see the mix of artists and musicians at the shows and see what they're working on in their worlds. I think it subconsciously feeds into our sound and the way we write. It’s our respite from the post-punk tornado that’s making its way across London at the moment.
Ji: We’re quite inspired by the whole scene that surrounded Muscle Shoals in the ’60s and ’70s. We love the ethos of the house band, how they’d write the instrumentals really collaboratively and then quickly record the track, but still end up producing these amazing soul records.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Ja: Captain Beefheart. He was a bit of a mad man wasn't he, a complete genius in every essence. It’d be quite inspiring just to see what he got up to and how he came about writing some of my favourite music ever.

Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
Ja: I’m reading a book at the moment, Live at The Brixton Academy. It’s about this dude with one arm who buys a derelict building in Brixton for £1 and goes ahead to turn it into the iconic venue we now know as Brixton Academy. I’ve always loved seeing acts at Brixton but this book has cemented it as THE venue for me. We must play there!
A: Nottingham Rock City for sure. I went to uni in Nottingham and saw some great bands play there. The sound and atmosphere in there are both so good- I saw The Cribs (one of my favourite bands still) play there back in the day and it was such a fun night.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Ji: I think Sharon Jones is massively underrated. From what I’ve heard, she spent her life grinding but sadly she died a few years ago before she really got her dues.
Ja: Grace Slick. What she did with Jefferson Airplane isn’t spoken about enough for me! 'White Rabbit' is one of my all-time favourites. What a voice she had.
