Describe your style in three words?
casual gay hipster.
The first track you played on repeat? And where did you play it?
Depeche Mode - Barrel of a Gun
I was 13 and "Ultra" the first Depeche Mode album I bought. I guess I was totally blown away by the production, although I had no idea what that was all about back then. I can vividly remember laying in bed at night, listening to "Barrel Of A Gun" on repeat with headphones on.
A song from your favourite album? And what does this track mean to you?
TR/ST - Sulk
"Trst" is probably my favorite album, because it contains elements from quite a few genres I love and my admiration didn't fade a bit since it came out. I got intrigued by Austra's Maya Postepski's involvement and wasn't disappointed the slightest.
A song from your most memorable gig?
Grace Jones - Slave To The Rhythm - Hot Blooded Version
I first saw Grace Jones live in Düsseldorf in 2009. Her stage presence is just unmatched and I'm glad I had the chance to see her again in 2016.
A song that always gets you up and dancing?
Róisín Murphy - In Sintesi - Psychemagik Remix
Róisín Murphy can do no wrong. I loved Moloko, her solo works even more and this remix adds an irresistible extra to her Italo phase.
A new song you're listening to? Why do you like this artist?
Riki - Böse Lügen (Body Mix)
Riki is an artist on Dais Records, my favorite record label. There are countless great acts on the label and she is one of my favorites right now. Her album came out in February and is a great mix of new wave and synth-pop with traces of Siouxsie throughout.
Best song to turn up loud? And why?
SOPHIE - Ponyboy
I'm totally into SOPHIE's productions and releases and they all deserve to be heard loud, preferably at a club with a great speaker system.
A song that defines the teenage you? And the memories it evokes?
Placebo - Pure Morning
When I was 15, I was finally able to watch alternative music channels and not just regular MTV anymore. It was when "Without You I'm Nothing" by Placebo came out, "Pure Morning" was on heavy rotation and I was immediately drawn to the songs, the style and the videos of the band.
An anthemic song? Why does it get your pulse racing?
Fischerspooner - Emerge
Allegedly DJ Hell called it the song of the century and I can only agree!
Best song to end an all-nighter?
Manic Street Preachers - Motorcycle Emptiness - Remastered
This song is the perfect ending to a night out, being drunk at club or pub with friends, leaving when the sun starts to ascend.
