Name, where are you from?
ZieZie from South East London.

Describe your style in three words?
Wavey, crazy and freaky.

What’s the best gig you’ve ever been to?
Capital Xtra Jingle Bell Ball in December 2019. This one was one of my favourites as I jumped on the O2 stage for the very first time in front of 18,000+ people with Aitch to perform our single ‘Buss Down’. I felt overwhelmed with excitement.

If you could be on the line up with any two artists in history?
Michael Jackson because he is the king of Pop and Post Malone because I look up to how diverse he is in his music.

Which subcultures have influenced you?
Growing up in a Caucasian area and also being Congolese has helped me merge both cultures in my music. As you can hear sometimes, I put in some French or Lingala in my songs but keep the genre more mainstream/pop.

If you could spend an hour with anyone from history?
Einstein – because he was a smart man and he could teach me something.

Of all the venues you’ve been to or played, which is your favourite?
Alexandra Palace is my favourite one because that was the first time I performed in front of 10,000 and the venue is beautiful.

Your greatest unsung hero or heroine in music?
Sabrina and Minnie who work at my Label RCA as they’re always trying to get me out there in the public and know how to market me. Marketing is a really important thing as an artist, and I feel like a lot of people don’t big up those that do marketing.

04Playlist Notes

The first track you played on repeat?
'BABY' by Justin Bieber. That song was the one that really made me realise my love for music.

A song that defines the teenage you?
'What I Go To School For' by Busted. Defined me as a teen.

One record you would keep forever?
'Lonely' by Justin Bieber.

A song lyric that has inspired you?
"I’m not in my bag, I'm loading, loading"

From 'Loading' by Central Cee.

The song that would get you straight on the dance floor?
'Techno Malewa Mecanique' by Werrason.

A song you wished you had written?
'Tommy Lee' by Tyla Yaweh (ft Post Malone).

Best song to turn up loud?
'Molly' by Central Cee.

A song people wouldn’t expect you to like?
'Gotti' by 6ix9in.

Best song to end an all-nighter on?
'Laugh Now, Cry Later' by Drake, Lil Durk.

Any new music you are listening to right now?
